In a recent year, 16.8% of all registered doctors were female. If there were 53,300 female registered doctors that year, what was the total number of registered doctors?

16.8% x D = 53,300

D = 53300/.168
D = 317261.9

which since you can't have a .9 doctor you would say that there were out of 317261 doctors.
