Dale bought a map of his city. It uses a scale of 1 inch to 8 miles. Dale's house and school are 1 1/2nches apart would his house and school be on the map if the apart on the map. How far scale was 1 inch to 6 miles?

if 1 in is equal to 8 miles
then 1.5×8 = 12 miles
therefore Dale's hpuse and school cannot be on the map because the map is 6 miles? I dont really understand some do the wording of the question
