The parabola is the name of the type of function curve judging by how it looks the curve opens downward to negative infinty.

The axis of symmetry is the point at which the parabola is equal on each side.
This point is at x=-1.

The vertex is the highest point of the parabola this is at the coordinates (-1,9)

The x intercepts are the places at which the parabola crosses the x axis
these points are at x = 2,-4

The y intercepts are the places at which the parabola crosses the y axis.
This points is at y = 8.

The parabola is going downwards.

The equation for the axis of symmetry is x = -1.

The vertex is at -1,9

The x-intercepts are at -4, 2
