figurative language is a word or phrase that you arent supposed  to take seriously like its raining cats and dogs means its raining hard pls mark brainliiest

Figurative language is when you use symbolism or non-literal phrases to communicate a point. For example: "She had stars in her eyes." A person can't literally have stars in one's eyes, but this phrase tells us she has very bright, glassy eyes.
