Although President Roosevelt is mostly remembered for his actions in the national arena, such as the implementation of the New Deal, his foreign policy was equally remarkable.

Roosevelt was a shrewd and skillful diplomat, and there are many strategies he followed which prove this point. For example, Roosevelt was able to increase the involvement of the United States in international politics, moving away from the isolationism that followed WWI. He established friendly relations with the Soviet Union despite the rampant fear of communism. He also improved relations with Latin America through the Good Neighbor Policy.
