While Corrie is still a prisoner in the concentration camp called the Scheveningen, she founds out about her family member's release from prison.

This happens during Hitler's birthday, the 20th of April. Because the guards of the camp were celebrating the birthday of their leader, the prisoners had the chance to exchange messages between each other, some of them containing valuable information about the outside world. It is because of these exchanges that Corrie finds out that Nollie, Peter,Pickwick, Tools and Willem were all released from prison.
