The correct answer is B.

Most of the modern languages of Europe are Indo-European languages, with the exceptions of Hungarian, Turkish, Finnish, Estonian, Basque, Maltese and Sami.

The Indo-European languages (about 445 of them ), posses the second longest recorded history, just after the Afroasiatic family. They are all descendants of a single prehistoric language, Proto-Indo-European, spoken in the Neolithic era.

The Indo-European languages with the greatest number of native speakers are Spanish, English, Hindustani, Portuguese, Bengali, Punjabi and Russian. They are closely followed by German, French, Italian and Persian.
