Transgenic organisms are organisms that have altered genomes and most transgenic organisms are usually generated in the laboratory for research purposes. In transgene, the segment of DNA containing a gene sequence is isolated from a particular organism and inserted into another or different organisms. The introduction of transgene into an organism is to bring a change in the phenotype of an organism.
