Cooperation and accommodation are two different ways in which humans can interact with others, as well as exist within groups.

Cooperation occurs when a group of people act together in order to achieve a common good. Some reasons why humans are able to cooperate with each other are showing honesty, being part of a cultural group, and for reasons having to do with cultural evolution.

On the other hand, accommodation occurs when a system is modified in order to help an individual compete fairly with others. For accommodation to take place, the individual often has a disadvantage that does not allow him to compete with others unless the others make some changes for him. This is another way in which humans are able to work with others in a group.

Accommodation refers to an adjustment that allows two rivalling groups to overcome their differences in order to find a solution. Cooperation involves non-conflicting groups working together to achieve a common goal.
