This is a light- independent cycle as the light energy is already trapped in light dependent cycle of photosynthesis. It utilizes NADPH and ATP products of light dependent reactions for synthesis of trios sugar glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate as product of Calvin-Benson cycle.
