The death rate in an air bag equipped vehicle is about than that of similar vehicles without air bags

it depended on what results we look at think of how many kids that don't match the height needed to be in the passenger seat. who follows these rules so it is higher if you count those deaths. so there needs to be more information but without the underage people it causes no difference. the seat belt actually saves you while the airbag can cause more problems than not having one.
