C. By definition the supernatural is that which is logically inexplicable but influences reality in some way. It's like a manifestation of the unknown. Forces of the unknown have unknown motivations and goals, making their very presence suspenseful. This is quite effectively shown in Macbeth through the haunting of Macbeth by Banquo.
