Predict the point Douglass is building to with this explanation of the separation from England. ("What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?")

1) I believe, that since slaves were promised freedom if they fought for the British and won, then they would be freed, and since they didn't win, that might be a grim reminder of how close they were to freedom.

2) How not everyone would be freed on the Fourth of July.
