How did World War 1 help the 18th Amendment get ratified

On November 18, 1918, before the ratification of the Eighteenth Amendment, the United States Congress passed the temporary Wartime Prohibition Act.

Originally, it was just during wartime, but after seeing how "well" it worked, Congress made it permeant.

because the 18th amendment is about alcohol and so if you can go fight in a war you can drink
