A. Are elected separately
The state of Georgia's constitution stipulates that the lieutenant governor shall be elected "at the same time, for the same term, and in the same manner" as the governor. The same qualifications for office apply to the positions of both governor and lieutenant governor, and they may come from different political parties. A governor's term is four years.
