I believe it is B, since many of the new scientific theories that resulted from the scientific revolution went against their teachings.

The correct option is B

The Church played an important role at the time when all the works in which the movement of the land was admitted, the Catholics were forbidden to teach, and even to read, the Copernican theories. The Copernican theory posed some problems of enormous importance to Christians, obviously of a theological nature. Leaders like Luther and Calvin brandished the Scriptures against Copernicus and incited repression against his followers.
