Let w=width
then w-2=length
Area = w(w-2)=255
Solve for w
w^2-2w-255=0
(w-17)(w+15)=0
w=15 or w=17
Since w>length, reject w=15.
So width 17, length=15

Note: Double check if question actually says width is two yards longer than the length.
