How did Jefferson’s concerns about the Louisiana purchase reflect the ideas of the Republican Party?

Jefferson spoke against a powerful federal government and instead advocated individual states' rights. He feared tyranny and only recognized the need for a strong, central government in terms of foreign affairs. He also did not like that the new Constitution did not contain the liberties that were protected by the Bill of Rights. He also didn't like that it left no boundaries for the president's term.
