She became the first to translate the works of Auguste Comte. (Father of sociology).
She wrote about American society and didn't think we could last long since our values were so out of sync with our realities. Her observations and willingness to share them were ahead of their time. She pointed out how we value people getting ahead-even if they gain by cheating others.
