Reintegration assumes that individuals can be transformed through effective programming or treatment. Reintegration is used to make sure individuals are able to function in society by themselves. It is most commonly used by prisons on former prisoners to make sure they do not return to prison or commit crimes. It is also used on immigrants to make sure they adjust to the new society they move to.
