1 second----------------40000 gallons
60 seconds--------------? ( this is what we're trying to find.

To get from 1 to 60, we multiplied by 60. Now we do it on the other side. 40000 times 60 is 2,400,000, so the rate in gallons per minute is 2,400,000 gallons per minute
