\bf x^2=\cfrac{3}{4}y\implies 4x^2=3y\implies \cfrac{4}{3}x^2=y

the independent variable is the "x", therefore, the parabola is a vertical one.

the coefficient of the leading term, namely the coefficient of x², is positive, thus it opens up upwards, like a bowl.
