The war was dragging on with both sides becoming worn down, it looked as if it might have been a stalemate until the US stepped in and began fighting, which tipped the scales in the favor of the allies. The US mobilized quickly and often produce materials that were used and needed to win the war. Factories were able to easily convert to produce military goods and they met nearly all their production goals.
