When dealing with unresponsive victim that has difficulty breathing, place the victim in a modified H.A.IN.E.S position. This is a recovery position that give better alternative airway and spinal protection for the unconscious casualty. The position is known to reduce the amount of side-ways movement of head and neck. In addition, H.A.IN.E.S means high arm in endangered spine.
