- animals have loss of hunting grounds, as the ice melts and there is less 'land'
-the melted ice adds more water into the ocean, which in turn causes higher sea levels, and more ice exposed to warmer water
- destruction of natural habitat: this would least to native species (ex: penguins) to go extinct.
