What level of job security do athletes and sports competitors have? Why do you think this is?

Athletes and sports competitors do not have much job security. The average athlete only lasts a few years in their profession. Athletes run the risk of being seriously injured and never being able to play again. They also have to worry about other players taking their position. Only the truly talented players who are not injury prone last long in sports.

I believe athletes and sports competitor had a very low level job security.
Their job security is low due to the high chance of getting an injury which could affect their performance in the future, which may cause them to lose their job.
Even if they're managed to spend their career without any injury, their career will peak when enter the age of 31-35.
