The Sioux Nation, also known as the Dakota Sioux, and also the Lakota Sioux, are considered to have been one of the strongest, if not the strongest, Native American and First Nation tribes in the Northern Plains of the United States, and they still exist in the US today as one of the largest government recognized tribal Nations.
