In later part of the interphase, the chromosomes produce identical copies of themselves. The duplication of a chromosome produces a chromosome with two strands. The two strands have identical genes. DNA REPLICATION HAPPENS IN DURING THE INTERPHASE OF THE CELL CYCLE..
