How did the Treaty of Paris, which officially ended the French and Indian War, affect French colonists in North America?

French colonist in Mainland North America found themselves under new rulers after the war. The Eastern half of French Louisiana was ceded to the British. The Western half was sold to the Spanish, France's ally. After the Treaty of Paris, France had lost all of its mainland North American possessions.
