The right answer is the Hedonic Motive, or the Hedonic Motivation, a notion that has been discussed by psychologists in the context of motivation and well-being theories and that derives from a school of thought called Hedonism that contends that the basis and ultimate goal in life is pleasure (Hēdonē means "delight" or "pleasure" in Greek). Hedonic Motivation is, essentially, the eagerness to pursue behaviors that intensify positive, pleasant or good experiences while decreasing those experiences that are negative, unpleasant or bad.
