With the promise of eternal salvation, the Church was extremely influential during the medieval ages. With influence all over Europe, the Church controlled information and people will through monasteries, priest or monks. In some parts of Europe, they collected taxes and Church earned a lot of money to stength its power and influenced. This way, they could exert a heavy influence in rulers and reigns. No one wanted to go to hell, so with the supervision of the Church and a better life after death in heaven, Church was a very powerful influence in medieval times.
