Explain the error and redo the problem showing the correct answer. ⦁ Carol’s Answer; 5/7 + 1/2 = 6/9 ⦁ The second problem asks, “What is 2 3/4 - 1 2/8 ?” Debbie and Eliana both try this problem. When they share their solutions, Debbie says that both she and Eliana are correct. Are both of the girls correct? Explain your answer. Debbie’s Answer: 2 3/4 - 1 2/8 = 2 6/8 - 1 2/8 = 1 4/8 = 1 1/2. Eliana’s Answer: 2 3/4 - 1 2/8 = 11/4 - 10/8 = 22/8 - 10/8 = 12/8 = 3/4.

Carol's answer is incorrect because you must find the same denominator.

Eliana's answer is incorrect. If you look at the end she say 12/8=3/4

Clearly 12/8=6/4=1.5
