Kabuki is a form of drama that was performed for the common people (C). At the beginning, during the Edo Period, it was acted only by women nowadays there are just men allowed to perform. This drama is rich in showmanship involving eye-catching costumes and exaggerated actions performed. Plots are usually based on historical dramas, conflicts, love stories, basically well-known stories so everyone can understand.
