Use the formula d = rt to find the distance d that a long distance runner can run at a rate r of 9 1/2 miles per hour for a time t of 1 3/4 hours.

d=rt

9.50mi/hr(.50 for half hour) *1.75(.75 because 3/4 equals that) =distance

=16.625

=16.63
