This follows from the quotient rule:


y=\frac{1+\ln t}t\implies(\mathrm dy)/(\mathrm dt)=(t\left(\frac1t\right)-(1+\ln t))/(t^2)

and simplifying a bit you end up with


(\mathrm dy)/(\mathrm dt)=-(\ln t)/(t^2)

(note that
y(t) is only defined for
t>0, which lets us simplify
t\left(\frac1t\right)=1)
