Google States "Sensory details include sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste. Writers employ the five senses to engage a reader's interest. ... When sensory details are used, your readers can personally experience whatever you're trying to describe, reminding them of their own experiences, giving your writing a universal feel." Hopefully this Helps!

it is important to have sensory detail in poetry to make some be able to feel, smell, taste, and see what you are trying to convey because it makes it worth reading and not boring it makes it have meaning.

hope this helped!! thanks :)
