During the 1890´s United States witnessed a dramatic change in immigration patterns. Most of the immigrants were at that time coming from Southern Europe. Flourishing businesses in America, as a result of the Second INdustrial Revolution, encourage the immigration. The goverment enacted laws to control the immigrant flux, opening as a result Ellis Island.
