the length of the hypotenuse is 25 units and the length of the other leg is 15 units

To find the length of one leg of a right triangle we apply Pythagorean theorem

(one leg)^2 = hypotenuse ^2 - other leg ^2

Let x be the length of one log

hypotenuse = 25

other log = 15

x^2 = 25^2 - 15^2

x^2 = 625 - 225

x^2 = 400

Take square root on both sides

x = 20

The length of one leg = 20 units
