An irregular shaped stone was lowered into a graduated cylinder holding a volume equal to 2mL. The height of the water rose to 7mL. If the mass of the stone was 25g, what is its density?

Hey there!:

Calculation of the volume displaced in the cylinder :

Final Volume - initial volume :

7 mL - 2 mL = 5 mL

Mass = 25 g

Therefore:

Density = mass / Volume

Density = 25 / 5

Density = 5 g/mL
