One way that i have come to do these kind of prmoblems, is to put these in my notes. 1/4 , is .25, 1/2, is .50, 3/4 is .75. You can think of this like what is 1 quarter. 25 cents right?, so what is half of a dollar?, that would be 50 cents, and what is 3 quarters, its 75 cents. I do it in quaters because it easier to understand / explain. I hope this was helpful.
