Armada is the spanish word for Navy, so an armada is a large fleet of warships.

Then, the armada or navy is the armed service in charge of the defense of a country by sea or inland waters. For this purpose, it operates with destroyers, frigates, corvettes, beacon ships, tugboats, minesweepers, amphibious assault ships and some with aircraft carriers, submarines and mini-submarines. They also have a naval aviation, a marine infantry force used for amphibious operations, communications media, training, etc., added to all their personnel, both military and civilian.
