From the end of the 18th century and throughout the 19th century, rights, as a concept and requirement, increased their political, social and philosophical importance in Europe. Revolutionary movements called for freedom of worship, the abolition of slavery, rights for women and for people without property and universal suffrage. At the end of the 18th century, the issue of women's rights became the central theme of the political debates in France and Great Britain. In the 19th century, the movement in favor of the right of women to participate in government and in the preparation of laws began.
