I didn’t want to leave AVID, but I knew that it was better for me in the end. (This was my sophomore year) Leaving was the best thing I could’ve done because now I’m a senior and I’m graduating in December. If it’s better for you mentally or academically, your teacher should understand. Just explain your reasonings. In the end, they went to school too. Y’all are both humans with the same veins and the same feelings, he/she should be able to understand and do what’s best for you, after all, they are a teacher and that’s their job.
