What are two reasons the British settlers stayed close to the East Coast

Permanent settlement was advantageous to British because 11% of the revenue remained with the zamindars and 89% of the revenue was handed over to the Britishers . Britishers get more profit .if the revenue was not payed the zamindars siezed their property .
