Hey there!:

Balanced equation:

5 SiO2 + 2 CaC2 = 5 Si + 2 CaO + 4 CO2

Reagents Products:

Si = 5 * 1 => 5 Si = 5* 1 => 5

O = 5 * 2 => 10 Ca = 2*1 => 2

Ca = 2 * 1 => 2 O = 2 * 1 => 2

C = 2* 2 = 4 C = 4 * 1 => 4

O = 4 * 2 => 8

Hope that helps!

Answer:

Unbalanced equation:

SiO2 + CaC2 → Si + CaO + CO2

Balanced equation:

5SiO2 + 2CaC2 → 5Si + 2CaO + 4CO2

Step-by-step explanation:

  • The chemical equation needs to be balanced so that it follows the law of conservation of mass.
  • A balanced chemical equation occurs when the number of the different atoms of elements in the reactants side is equal to that of the products side.
