The graph shows the increase in temperature over time in an oven. What is the change in the y-values and x-values on the graph? The change in the y-values is 40 and the change in the x-values is 1. The change in the y-values is 1 and the change in the x-values is 40. The change in the y-values is 150 and the change in the x-values is 2. The change in the y-values is 190 and the change in the x-values is 3.

Answer:

Option A is correct.

Change in the y-values is 40 and the change in x-values is 1.

Explanation:

Let x represents the time in minutes and y represents the temperature(in Fahrenheit).

Given two points on the line graph i.e,

A(x_1, y_1)= (2 , 150) and
B (x_2, y_2)= (3, 190)

we have to find the change in the y-value and x-value on the graph:

Change in the x-values for the given points is;

(x_2 - x_1) = 3 - 2 = 1

Similarly,

Change in the y-values for the given points is;

(y_2 - y_1) = 190-150 =40.

Since, the slope or the rate of change of the given line graph is the ratio of the change in the y-value over the change in the x-value i.e, slope = 40.

Therefore, change in the y-values is 40 and the change in x-values is 1.
