maintain homeostasis
made of cells
pass trains to offspring
a plant has all of these characteristics, a fire arguably only has a responsiveness to stimuli (such as going out when water is poured on it or getting bigger if rid is placed on it) and it grows and changes such as getting larger or dying out.
