B) is the correct answer.

The quotation marks are in the right place, which is around the quote. The quote even includes a comma, which is correct grammar.

A) → The comma is not in the correct area. The comma should go after "Joe".

C) → This sentence doesn't include quotation marks even though it should around "After you finish your work, you may leave,".

D) →The sentence is missing quotation marks at the beginning of the quote.

A) is the correct answer because B) has a comma right before the end of the quotation marks and doesn't continue after "begged Mrs. Smith.", C) has no qoutation marks for the dialogue, and D) has no beggining quotation mark.
