Ibn Battuta's travels influenced not only other explorers but his memories "Rihla" gave great details of the Muslim world's culture, social and political history. Some of his tellings on Asia Minor, East and West Africa, the Maldives, and India are an important source of this places' histories. He is known as the greatest medieval traveller and his influence and fame was not reached until the XIX century. He travelled 75000 miles through the muslim world.
