Major functions of connective tissue include: 1) binding and supporting, 2) protecting, 3) insulating, 4) storing reserve fuel, and 5) transporting substances within the body. Connective tissues can have various levels of vascularity. Cartilage is avascular, while dense connective tissue is poorly vascularized.

connective tissue can do a large set of things here i will tell a few of them.

Dense irregular connective tissue - They can protect organs from injury via their toughness and provide protective covering.

blood- transport of various molecules, gases, hormones etc.

Dense regular connective tissue - they bind bones together and also muscles to bones and helps in relieving stretch force from muscles to bone and vice-versa.
